KELLY | Kelly{at}
Kelly Halloran began playing violin at age 4. She studied through the Suzuki method until age 16. As a teenager, she performed professionally in a variety of arrangements including a funk band, dixie-land band, jazz and concert band, orchestras, chamber ensemble, pit orchestras for musicals, as well as her own rock band. After graduating high school she moved to Manhattan where she made a living solely as a jazz violinist busker (street performer) in NYC’s subways and Central Park. She recorded and independently sold two jazz CDs imitating the style of her hero Stephane Grappelli. In the fall of 2007, she met guitarist/singer/songwriter/activist Liah Alonso and soon after they started the folk-rock duo Left on Red. Kelly now performs with Left on Red nationally and internationally. She has performed with such esteemed artists as Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), Pete Huttlinger (Grammy winner, former guitarist of John Denver’s band)
